Reinventing Public Education
Pivot Learning Partners is a nonprofit catalyst for change whose entrepreneurial business model enables us to leverage both public and private sector resources to help create high performing school systems throughout California. Pivot Learning Partners signature effort is our District Partner Program. Our unique "whole system" approach in these multi-year district partnerships connects research on high performing, high poverty schools and districts with the practical tools and the ongoing professional development and coaching that is essential for new solutions to become new opportunities for students. Partner districts, which range from some of the largest school districts in the state to some of the smallest, choose from a menu of services to build a long term partnership and create a customized package of support.
Founded in 1995 as the Bay Area School Reform Collaborative (BASRC), we became Springboard Schools in 2005, launching an ambitious effort to become a statewide service provider and shifting our focus from whole school to whole systems change. As Springboard Schools, we expanded our menu of services and our cadre of coaches, and we grew to serve over fifty school districts.
Now, as we become Pivot Learning Partners, we are poised to scale up proven innovations at the same time that we test and develop exciting new tools and approaches to accelerate the change that our schools need and our students deserve.
Throughout this journey, we have remained rooted in the belief that the public school system is the gateway to opportunity for individuals, the engine of a healthy economy, and the cornerstone of our democracy.
