School Finance Reform
School district finance systems are widely viewed as unnecessarily complex, inefficient and ill-equipped to promote collective accountability for results. The centralized systems in place in most districts today unintentionally disempower principals and school communities, undermine locally accountability for learning outcomes and short-change schools serving the neediest children. SSFR is a comprehensive approach for districts to implement a needs-based or “weighted student formula” methodology in allocating resources from the district to the school.
