Board Member Teresa Bonaccorsi brings an extensive range of experience – as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, and district administrator – as well as a unique organizational perspective to her work with Springboard Schools. During Springboard’s days as a grantmaking organization, under the auspices of the Bay Area School Reform Collaborative (BASRC), Ms. Bonaccorsi served as a BASRC reform coordinator and literacy coach. She coached principals, led teachers and leadership teams on a suite of issues like data analysis, leadership, and literacy assessments, and implemented cycles of inquiry in the classroom to ensure high standards of student achievement.
An elementary school teacher for 18 years, Ms. Bonaccorsi integrates the Springboard approach to systemic reform in her current role as Categorical Program Manager for Fremont Unified School District, where she provides professional development and coaching to the lowest performing schools in the district. Her work in educational equity thus draws on many years of both practice- and client-centered approaches. Ms. Bonaccorsi leads Fremont district coaches to help schools build effective leadership teams that focus on equity and closing the achievement gap. She also manages the Language Assessment Center, ensuring Title III compliance in the areas of initial ELL identification, annual testing, effective programming, data management, and program evaluation.
